We are an association representing producers and importers who place packaged goods on the Lithuanian market and fulfil their obligations under the polluter-pays principle. Our name, “Gamtos ateitis” – “The Future of Nature” – is our key message and commitment: everything we do is for the future of nature.

“Gamtos ateitis” is an association of producers and importers that organizes packaging waste management in Lithuania.
We bring together expertise in environmental protection, law and waste management to support a transparent and efficient packaging waste management system.
We also invest in public education and create tools that help people better understand recycling and responsible packaging waste management.

Our mission is to help businesses meet their packaging waste management responsibilities and contribute to the development of a circular economy.
Our vision is a Lithuania where businesses make full use of the potential of the circular economy and packaging waste is returned to the recycling cycle as efficiently as possible.
Why sorting matters
We sort packaging, not just materials
The recycling system in Lithuania is financed by producers and importers operating in the country.
Companies that place packaged products on the Lithuanian market help fund the whole packaging waste management system.
This includes:
- recycling containers for municipalities,
- waste collection,
- packaging waste treatment,
- and efforts to increase recycling.
Producers and importers in Lithuania fulfil these responsibilities through associations.
“Gamtos ateitis” is one of them. Together, we can keep Lithuania clean and become better at
